We got our kiddo sleeping through the night at 4 weeks through a combination of swaddling, white noise, and routine. I'm the kind of person who was REALLY not doing well without getting a good night's sleep, so I had made that a high priority. Well our little Jude decided to learn how to roll over in the middle of the night while we were away on a trip last weekend. He can now roll from his back to his tummy and he's only 3.5 months old.

What he CAN'T do is roll from his tummy to his back or push himself up very well on his tummy. So for all of his naps and nighttime sleeps during the entire trip, he screamed and screamed and finally passed out from exhaustion. Comforting him and trying to rock him to sleep didn't help because he just wanted to be put down on his back (since that's what we'd conditioned him to). And the moment we put him on his back, boom, he rolled over to his tummy and started screaming again with his little face buried in the crib mattress. We were not only concerned because he was so unhappy, but also worried that it might be a SIDS risk since he couldn't really turn his head to the side very well.

He had outgrown the swaddle just a few weeks earlier and we thought we'd reached a milestone with him sleeping happily sacked out on his back. When this rolling started up, NONE of us were getting any rest and that made for very unhappy baby, mama, and daddy! Out of desperation, I decided to try the wriggle wrapper. We had wanted to get it eventually for when he started solid foods, but decided to get it early and give it a try for the sleep feature. It looked a little gimmicky, and I knew he might just hate being strapped down like that, but let me tell you, it brought sanity back to the household! I think if your little one was one who slept well swaddled early on then this might be worth a shot for you.

It was super easy to hook the straps around his crib mattress and just keep it laid out. We just lay him down on top of it already strapped to the mattress, and then it's simply like diapering him. The wraps allow you to make it nice and snug without it being too tight, and I think he feels really cozy in it. He kind of rocked to the left and the right like he was trying to roll over again, looked up at me a little confused, and then laid back, sighed contentedly, and went to sleep!

Now some might worry that this will delay him developmentally with the rolling, I know I did. But I think that if we give him plenty of time to work on rolling and tummy time during his awake time and not rob him of his sleep time for that practice, then he will do just fine. Once he's comfortable rolling around back and forth and also comfortable being on his tummy and able to push up, we'll segue out of the wrapper for napping and move it to its new use as a highchair.

I love that it's soft-sided, machine washable, and folds up so small you could put it in your glove compartment. I'm a mama who has never liked to have baby crap all over my house and car, looking like babies-r-us threw up all over the living room, so I'm very excited about possibly using this in place of a high chair. We have a bar-height dining table with matching chairs, so I think tucking him into this and pulling it right up to the table will work nicely. It's got these great rubber grippies on the back and bottom too, so I imagine when we first use it for eating and he needs a little boost to be high enough to reach the table, we can put something under him like a big dictionary or something because the grippies look like they will give great traction to keep him put.

At the end of the day, this product has worked wonders for one of the features it was designed and was well worth the $50 just for that! I highly highly recommend!

Phil & Ted's WW_V1_7_200_USA Review by Mostly Mom

I bought the wriggle wrapper to use as a portable high chair for my 9 month old. It works very well for that purpose. It attaches quickly and easily to every chair I have tried. I can almost do it one handed, but not quite. The buckle, Velcro and snap closure is very secure. The wrapper is high enough to keep even a dedicated escape artist contained yet comfortable.

If you plan on using the wrapper at a regular table you will need something to boost the occupant up. I've had good luck with using a restaurant booster or anything really.

I haven't used it for sleeping or as a lap belt (that use seems silly to me) but if I do I will edit this review then. As a portable highchair I find it functional and attractive. My only complaint is that it is fairly expensive compared to other similar items. I believe it is worth the extra cost because the simple attachment means it works where other portable chairs do not.

This wrapper is so convenient and easy to use! Really keeps baby snug and secure in any chair. I especially like that it has a no-slip backing because I have leather chairs and when I use this there is absolutely NO slipping or sliding even with my very squirmy 7 mo old. I paired this wrapper with the KABOOST Portable Chair Booster Chocolate and now my baby can sit at the breakfast bar with the rest of the family! This wrapper is so versatile, it folds up neatly into the carry case, it is super light and very easy to attach to any chair or shopping cart. I like it better than the large puffy blanket-like covers that are more popular. The advantage with the wriggle wrapper is that it comes up over the baby's chest so it prevents baby from bending forward to put her hands or mouth on the shopping cart handdle bar (yuk!) or on the table in a restaurant, etc.
